Scrivener’s Moon

Philip Reeve’s new book.
Although this is probably the simplest Mortal Engines cover so far, it took
longer than usual. Endless tweaking with colours, relative sizes, horizon
tilt – sometimes the infinite possibility digital painting offers can be a
right pain. Originally it was going to be very, very red, but it looked too
different from the previous covers. Ideally there would have been more
Stalkers emerging from the smoke, but I abandoned them after countless
attempts.

  1. Incredible cover art as always, David, that provides the perfect complement to Philip’s words. As usual I can’t wait to get my hands on this book and like Steve said I hope there are many more to come… and maybe even a publisher will pick up that WoME graphic novel that you guys were proposing!

  2. Philip should let you do more inside the books. So we have more of your great artwork to marvel at. Very nice cover again. Should sell ltd prints of them all!

  3. Definately. More of that please. I would love to see your interpretation of other cities in Philip Reeve’s world, such as Brighton, Manchester (unblown up!), Traktionstadt-Weimar, etc.
